The commands can be accessed in the popup menu when editing selected 2D Lines and Copper shapes.

Join – Connects multiple, individual open path shapes into a single contiguous open path shape

• For complex shapes where selecting all of the open shapes and closing them in one step is too difficult, you can select several shapes and join them together in succession.

Close – creates a closed shape (polygon) from selected shapes

• Use this to convert a shape that is defined as "open" so that it can be turned into a filled copper shape, board outline shape, etc afterwards.
• This is very useful for shapes imported from DXF files as they are often defined as "open" shapes.

Break – splits the selected closed drawing into a set of open path shapes

• If you need to modify a shape and it is easier to remove several segments, you can break the shape, delete the necessary line segments, add onto it and join and close the shape afterwards.
